The Grand Jurors, chosen, selected and sworn, in and for the County of Saline in the name and by the authority of the People of the State of Illinois, upon their oaths present:  That Mike Fodor, Steve Kasza, George Hajdu, late of said County, on the 24th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen at and within the County aforesaid, said County of Saline in the State of Illinois, aforesaid in and upon one JAMES COVACS, in the Peace of the People of the said State of Illinois, then and there being unlawfully, feloniously, willfully, and of their malice aforethought did make an assault and that the said Mike Fodor, Steve Kasza and George E. Hajdu, a certain pistol, commonly called revolver then and there charged with gunpowder and divers leaden bullets which said pistol the said Mike Fodor, Steve Kasza and George E. Hajdu in their hands then and there had and held, then and there unlawfully willfully and feloniously and of their malice aforethought did discharge and shoot off to, against, towards and upon the said James KOVACS, and that the said Mike Fodor, Steve Kasza and George Hajdu with one of the leaden bullets aforesaid, out of the pistol aforesaid  then and there by force of the gunpowder aforesaid by the said Mike Fodor, Steve Kasza and George E. Hajdu discharged and shot off as aforesaid then and there unlawfully, willfully, feloniously and of their malice aforethought did then and there strike penetrate and wound him the said James Kovacs then and there with one of the leaden bullets aforesaid, so as aforesaid discharged and shot off as aforesaid then and there unlawfully, willfully, feloniously and of their malice aforethought did then and there strike penetrate and wound him the said James Kovacs then and there with one of the leaden bullets aforesaid, so as aforesaid discharged and shot off as aforesaid out of the pistol aforesaid by the said Mike Fodor, Steve Kasza and George Hajdu in and upon the face and head to wit:  Upon the nose of him the said James Kovacs one mortal wound of the depth of five inches and of the breadth of half an inch of which said mortal wound the said James Kovacs then and there died;  and so the Grand Jurors aforesaid upon their oaths aforesaid do say that the said Mike Fodor, Steve Kasza and George Hajdu, him the said James Kovacs in manner and and form aforesaid then and there unlawfully, feloniously, willfully, and of their malice aforethought did kill and murder contrary to the form of the statute in such case made and provided, and against the peace and dignity of the said People of the State of Illinois.
